What is the LEAN Life Coaching Program?

WHY the LEAN Life Coaching Program? 

Most people are very good at procrastinating when it comes to diet and exercise…you know, feeling like the conditions have to be perfect in order to get started? Or that they have to remain perfect to continue? They start a new diet and exercise program on a Monday because it feels like a clean slate. An ideal start to a “perfect” week. Usually by Friday though, the thrill has worn off and they’ve fallen off the ‘eat healthy and exercise’ wagon. They stay in that cycle for far too long, letting days, weeks, even months pass by with little to no progress. Let me tell you, I’ve struggled with this as well. It’s so common, and feels so hard to reverse too, doesn’t it? It’s the worst.

My name is Keri Mantie and I help women develop a healthy relationship with food, exercise efficiently, and create real-life solutions to feeling their best, both inside and out so that they can stop the “all or nothing” dieting mindset, reach their goals and maintain those results in a healthy and balanced way.

I'm a mom to 3 boys, CJ who is five, and 12 year old twins, Michael and Drew. And just like the hundreds of clients I work with, it is my mission to balance family, fitness, nutrition, and FUN! This is why I created the LEAN Life Group Coaching Program – to combine family, fitness, nutrition, and fun, in that order!

I have a Masters Degree in Applied exercise science, and a bachelors degree in exercise physiology. I hold my level 1 kettlebell and bodyweight certifications through StrongFirst, am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) a Metabolic Effect Nutrition Consultant, specializing in hormonal fat loss for women and a newly certified Health Mindset Coach.

I've been in the fitness industry since 1997 and have worked with thousands of clients, both in-person and online, helping them to achieve their health and fitness goals.

After having my second baby I lost some weight and then was just stuck and now I've lost that much more weight just by making small changes. I TRY to get workouts in when I can and with my busy schedule sometimes I don't or I do a 10 minute video. I don't feel guilty about it either because I'm making better food choices! "I really can't say enough about what I have learned and gained from this group. I am stronger than I have ever been and I don't go to the gym for hours or feel guilty for eating brownies....I don't even belong to a gym! My workouts happen at home during nap time or with the kids right there with me, so they need to be quick and effective.  

When I started, I just wanted to feel a bit more comfortable in a bathing suit after I had my second child....I honestly didn't expect the results I got, especially because I don't feel deprived AT ALL. I can still have wine, dessert and even bread...just not all at once and all the time like I used to.  

Little changes like replacing my bowl (or okay maybe 2 bowls) of cereal every morning with a protein shake or eggs, lifting heavier weight and really just thinking about what I was eating and planning for splurges went a long way in terms of how I look and more importantly how I feel. I feel amazing, no more back/neck pain from carrying/lifting kids all day and lots more energy.

"I joined Keri's coaching group in May. Since that time, I have completely redefined the way that I look at food and exercise. I always knew what I "should" be eating. I've done other plans before that were food plans, and what they told me was obvious: cut out fat, cut down on bread, limit alcohol and work out every day. I would be told what to have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and two snacks. I would lose some weight, but would inevitably go back to my "regular" eating when the program ended. With Keri, she explains WHY certain foods are better than others and what effect hormones have on fat loss. This is especially important to me as I enter menopause. Her approach just makes sense for the long-term. It's not even a "program" for me; it's a lifestyle. How many pounds have I lost? I don't know, because I don't weigh myself anymore. But I do know that I'm down a full size in all of my clothing and I feel better physically than ever before. I'm so happy that Keri advised me to take my measurements and pictures along the way. The scale doesn't tell the story but pictures certainly do! The added bonus to all of this: the group support from the closed Facebook page. Those ladies are inspirational and funny and real. Can't say enough about it!"

What equipment will I need for the workouts?

You can complete all workouts with just a set of dumbbells, but I recommend having a heavier (for you) set and a lighter set. For example, a set of 15lbs. and a set of 25lbs.

How long are the workouts?

All workouts are between 30-40 minutes (including warmup). There are also shorter ones on the portal if you need something under 20 minutes!

Do I have to follow the programming as it's laid out?

Not at all! I want this to fit YOUR lifestyle. Some months you may only be able to get in one workout a week, others you may be able to get all 3! This program is *very* flexible, not rigid. I completely understand that life happens!

Do I have to pay extra for the LIVE classes?

NO! The live classes are JUST as much for ME as they are for YOU! I follow the programming, too! These are the workouts I do week in and week out. I love being able to workout "with" you! So, no, I don't charge extra for them. And if you can't make them "live", you can follow the recording or print out the PDF.

How would you describe the workouts?

Because the majority of my clients are working out at home with minimal equipment, we tend to do more metabolic conditioning type workouts. They are all total body with a goal to get you out of your comfort zone in a safe way. All workouts can be modified to fit your needs.

How does the nutrition aspect of the program work?

There are numerous videos housed on the portal discussing how to create your own fat loss lifestyle. I also do weekly Q+As and you can always ask any nutrition related questions on the FB page.

Immediately after payment you will be re-routed to a registration page where you will choose a username and password for direct access to the LEAN Life private portal. Email if you experience technical difficulties logging in.
